STAFF REPORT SAWABI: The eminent Engineering and SandT resource hub of country, Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institution of Engineering, Science and Technology recently held 19th convocation.


Jehangir Bashar, Rector of GIK Institute, lauded the role of its alumni and said that ex-students are institutes foremost ambassadors who are playing their role in national development through their knowledge, acumen, and grip imparted by the institution.


Professor Dr Javed A Chattha, Pro-Rector (Academic), said the Institute had undertaken and completed research projects in various fields of engineering and sciences.


Governor KPK, Sardar Mehtab Ahmed Khan was the chief guest of the occasion. He complimented the contributions of GIK Institute in academia. He also congratulated the graduates and their parents on this auspicious occasion of their life. He emphasized on technology and science education and referred that Pakistan was exposed to great challenges and it had to pay highest import taxes on IT products.


Degrees were conferred on 225 undergraduate and 29 post graduate students and 2 PhD scholars were conferred the degrees. The gold medals were also awarded to high achievers.
