STAFF REPORT HARIPUR: The two-day summit on theme Invention to Innovation kick started at University of Haripur, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The objective of the event was to give students an opportunity to showcase their innovative technological inventions.


More than 500 technologies were given space in the event.As many as 1000 innovators and industry partners participated in the event to show their products in large gathering that entailed people from diversified backgrounds.The different industries also participated in the event; Hattar Industrial Estate was one of the vibrant participants that exhibited agricultural and herbal products.


Dr Muhammad Ashraf, Chairman Pakistan Science Foundation graced the occasion with his benign presence. He said, “The event is hallmark of excellence and bringing skilled resource talent on scene; PSF has already launched Science Talent Farming Scheme for capacity building and upgradation of scientific human resource of Pakistan as it is the foremost need of the country”.


The event was held in collaboration with Pakistan Council for Science and Technology (PCST), Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF), PASTIC, IRP, SRC, UMT, AFAQ and other partners.


Federal Secretary, Ministry of Science and Technology, Fazal Abbas Maken was the chief guest. He said while addressing on the first day of the event, “The science and technology promotion and backing of research culture is largely required and public-private partnerships and industry-academia collaborations can play a key role in nurturing the research realm and produce solution-based in order to address the challenges of Pakistan”.
