PSF - 1(09-04-13)STAFF REPORT LHR: The sustained collaboration between experienced researchers, eminent scientists and young entrepreneurs can do miracles in scientific advancement in order to achieve socio-economic progress of the country.

“We should forge collaboration among academia, RandD organizations, public sector departments and the industry,” said Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF) Chairman Prof. Dr. Manzoor H. Soomro while addressing the inaugural ceremony of a recently held two-day Invention to Innovation Summit-2013 organized by PSF, University of the Punjab (UoP) and Institute of Research Promotion (IRP) in Lahore.

Prof. Dr. Mujahid Kamran, Vice Chancellor, University of the Punjab, Lahore, said in his remarks that all the scientific advancement is possible only through young researchers.

He propounded that Isaac Newton at the age of 24 and Einstein at the age of 26 put forward their theories for which they are well-known today. He said that the only need is to bring in fair intention and self-confidence in young researchers to innovate.

The people having technologies engrossed with local RandD put up their ideas during the Summit through exhibition, poster presentations, documentaries and physical prototypes. The industries and academia personnel presented their innovative products and shared their research experiences. The industrial issues identified during this summit will be taken up jointly by PSF, Academia and the Industry.
