STAFF REPORT LHR: The University of Veterinary and Animal Science Lahore has planned a scientific poster exhibition and various other technical activities at the Poultry Expo (IPEX-2013, Pakistan) this week.


According to details, the postgraduate students of the UVAS, other universities and research institutes will display the results of their applied and field-oriented research at the exhibition for the benefit of the professionals, farming community and exhibition visitors.


The event has been arranged by the Pakistan Poultry Association (PPA) for encouraging budding scientists in the country. Amongst other initiatives, the PPA has allotted an exclusive space for poster presentation of original applied research conducted by university students especially on resolving the problems of Pakistani poultry sector.


The university has also arranged its stall at the Poultry Expo, in which extension and research literature would be available for consumer education.


Students from DVM, BS Poultry Science and postgraduate programmes from the city, Ravi and Jhang campuses of the UVAS will participate in all the technical sessions of the Poultry Expo and facilitate the organizers in the conduct of the Expo.


Speaking about the activities planned for the expo by the university, Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha said that by participating in the Expo, the students would have a lot of exposure of listening to problems of the sector and the advanced research and knowledge in poultry sector.
