STAFF REPORT LHR: Aftab Ahmad, President of National Academy of Young Scientists, Pakistan, is invited to join the “The Global State of Young Scientists” (GloSYS) working group meeting in Berlin, Germany.
The meeting is part of the Global Young Academys GloSYS project funded by the German Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). The meeting will contribute to the goals of the GloSYS project to further the conditions of careers in academia, promote science as a career of choice for young people and narrow the gap between science in developed and developing countries.
It will explore the career paths, but also the challenges and support mechanisms young scientists encounter in their national academic landscapes. He will discuss the status of young scientists in Pakistan and in developing countries and will also highlight the major issues and challenges they are facing. It is very important that developing countries should provide more facilities and infrastructure to young scientists so they could contribute in better way for the development of country. Aftab also joined the first meeting of the project at the end of April this year. The meeting will be on 29-30th Nov in Berlin.
