STAFF REPORT LHR: Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) have announced to introduce 16 free demand driven courses of various durations of three to six months.These courses will started in TEVTA institutes across Punjab from January 2015 on the recommendations of relevant industry.

“As many as 28,500 students will benefit from these courses during one year. Stipend of Rs1,000 per month will also be provided to the participants to meet their travel expenditure,” said TEVTA Chairperson Irfan Qaiser Shaikh.

He has said that courses, including mobile repair, home appliances, fashion designing, call centre, web designing, kitchen helper, cooking, laundry man, rice operator, embroidery, gem and jewellery, pharmaceutical, industrial stitching, housekeeper, certificate in computer application and textile designing will be introduced.He further said trainees would be given free consumable material during their training period. TEVTA will also procure new machinery/equipment for its institute wherever it is required, he added.
