Staff Report ISb: OPPO has been aggressively advertising its home baked ColorOS operating system since last year. Just like other customizations ColorOS is based on Android. The latest version ColorOS 2.1 is based on Android KitKat 4.4 and the company is preparing to release version 2.1 based on the latest flavor of Android, i.e. Lollipop 5.x. However in a surprising move, OPPO has released Lollipop based AOSP version for Find 7 and the Find 7a.

For those who are unfamiliar, AOSP is the abbreviation of (Android Open Source Project), meaning this version is developed based on the Googles AOSP source code, providing a pure stock Android experience, just like a Nexus device. The AOSP version is aimed to provide a pure Android experience, which is light, fast, stable and up to date. This version is aimed at those who are experienced with flashing firmware and are big fans of stock Android, and are looking forward to experiencing Lollipop on their devices.

The good news is that VOOC Flash Charging is supported in the beta AOSP and you can still charge your phones at insanely fast speed, however youll surely miss the Pure Image Camera application.
