Staff Report Pew: The three day Digital Youth Summit 2015 held in Peshawar concluded recently. The event aimed at promotion of Information Technology (IT) sector in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) province in public sector affairs. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Inofrmation Technology Board (KPITB) organized the event in collaboration with World Bank, Peshawar 2.0 and other partner organizations.


Young entrepreneurs of IT sector belonging to the province grasped the opportunity to connect themselves with outer world and enhance their exposure while information sharing, exchange of ideas, and take advantage of wide array of opportunities in cyber entrepreneurship and adopt it instead of conventional job hunt.


At maximum 1500 of IT students got themselves registered with KPITB. The registered students will be trained by expert trainers and experienced professionals about cyber entrepreneurship to make them skilled enough so that they could setup their own income source.


Shahram Khan Tarakai, Senior Provincial Minister IT was the chief guest who said that the event was a good step towards promotion and advancement of IT in KP. He affirmed that the next chapter of Digital Youth Summit will be more engaging that will be organized next year.


Minister further unveiled that KPITB is being overhauled and will be extended to the farthest part of the province. He highlighted the significance of IT and said that provincial government is taking steps to incorporate IT in every sector of government.


The event was overwhelmed by large number of participants including professionals from IT industry, delegates, academia, and students.
