STAFF REPORT PESHAWAR:Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) organized job fair for Khyber Pakhtunwa and Federally Administered Tribal Areas in Peshawar. It was the unprecedented event in the KPK province.


As large as 7,500 engineers registered themselves in the job fair. Many reputed national and international public and private sector companies were invited in the event. International companies offered 250 jobs whereas local companies also stepped forward to offer 100 jobs to the engineering graduates.


International companies offered as many as 250 jobs to engineering graduates while local entities also announced around 100 employment openings.


PEC Chairman Syed Abdul Qadir Shah pledged to create job opportunities with multinationals firms in Peshawar, instead of exporting the highly skilled engineers to foreign countries.


He said that the job fair of PEC was in its ongoing effort to empower engineers of the underdeveloped province KPK and it gave opportunity and exposure to the graduates of KPK and FATA to interact with industry and get a chance to be empowered.


Governor Sardar Mehtab Ahmad Khan presented shields and certificates to representatives of several multinational companies, universities and other commercial entities for their active role in making the job fair a success.
