The International WaterCentre (IWC) is an Australian organization dedicated to provide education, training, applied research and knowledge services for capacity building in integrated water resource management in a bid to implement water cycle approach.


IWC has announced Masters Scholarships for International Students in Integrated Water Resource Management. These scholarships are announced each year for capacity building in the subject of imperative significance. IWC Masters Scholarships application submission date is August 1, 2015.


Shortlisted applicants will be notified latest by 18 August and the Scholarships Selection Panel will make a final decision on successful recipients by 19 October. MIWM program will commence in February 2016 at The University of Queensland (Brisbane, Australia).


The scholarship entails numerous benefits including full tuition fee waiver, living cost expenses , overseas student health cover (valued at AU$ 856 for 18 months, cost of student visa for a single student (valued at AU$ 535), Living costs stipend (valued at AU 36,000 for 16 months) payable in equal monthly instalments.


Citizenship from developing countries in Asia-Pacific, Africa, South and Central America, the Caribbean, Europe and the Middle East are eligible to apply for the scholarship; the country list can be seen at www.watercentre.org.


The selection of the candidates will be made on academic record, professional and volunteering record, commitment, leadership qualities. The Masters program encompasses custom designed programs that offers integrated cross disciplinary learning experience with the main emphasis on developing leadership skills to create effective water leadership. This combines the deep specialist disciplinary or functional knowledge that a leader needs (which can be imagined as an I), with a wider knowledge of other disciplines, organizational functions and the institutions in which they operate (which can be imagined as the cross bar on a T).
