STAFF REPORT LHR: A three day national workshop on Molecular Diagnostics was jointly organized by Institute of Biochemistry and Biotechnology and Quality Operation Lab and University Diagnostics Lab of the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) and Penn State and United States Department of Agriculture Research Service. The workshop was aimed at training of participants in various molecular diagnostic techniques including ELISA, DNA extraction, end-point and Real-Time PCR and Capillary Electrophoresis.


Vice Chancellor UVAS, Prof Dr Talat Naseer pasha chaired the workshop inaugural sessions. He said while speaking to the participants that the workshop is an objective based effort of University Diagnostics Lab, Quality Operation Lab and the Institute of Biochemistry and Biotechnology and is imperative for knowledge sharing, skill development and promotion of molecular diagnostic techniques in life sciences research.


Detailed presentation on various molecular diagnostic techniques was given to familiarize the participants with state of the art technology. Faculty members, students, researchers, industry practitioners participated in the workshop.
