STAFF REPORT ISB: The unconventional methodology to impart science and technology knowledge is highly important for popularization of science and stirring the sense of intriguing amongst youth in particular so to push them towards science education. That is one way of building human resource in SandT sector. Economic Cooperation Organization Science Foundation (ECOSF) carried the same thematic note in its four-day capacity building workshop titled as Inquiry Based Science Foundation (IBSE). The workshop was jointly organized ECOSF and Ministry of Education and Science, Republic of Kazakhstan in collaboration with French Embassy in Kazakhstan. UNESCO (ISTIC) Kuala Lumpur and the Inter-Academy Partnership (IAP) Science Education Programme (SEP) were the prime sponsors of the event.


Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ashraf, Chairman Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF), President ECOSF Prof. Dr. Manzoor H. Soomro were present on the occasion.


President ECOSF in his welcome address emphasized on need of Inquiry Based Science Foundation and its objectives. He apprised the participants with the ECOSF contributions and various programmes. He said, “The workshop purpose is to experience the process of inquiry-based science teaching and learning, problem solving skills; Gain insights into activities that not only can encourage and motivate students in science through the hands-on, minds-on activities but also convince decision makers to pursue inquirybased approach”. The delegates also presented their views during the workshop.
