A Chinese delegation of entrepreneurs under the guidance of Lee of Ministry of Commerce, China paid a visit to Islamabad chamber of commerce and industry Pakistan. They have shown interest in investing in producing silk worms, mulberries, and many other agro products of Pakistan’s agriculture sector.

Chinese entrepreneurs in the first phase of the project are searching the right land for the construction of Agri farm while in second phase an industry for silk production will be set up said, Lee, while speaking on the occasion. He added that this investment will result in new 30,000 jobs in Pakistan. Establishment of silk industry will make Pakistan self-sufficient in silk and no need to import silk from Pakistan.

The Chinese delegation found Pakistan a potential country for business and investment so they have explored every conceivable way for investing in agriculture locally.

Pakistan is an agricultural country previously offered countless opportunities to foreign investors in areas like crops, seeds and tree farming, livestock, dairy farming, milk processing said Khalid Iqbal Malik ICCI President. He said emphasizing on the need that Chinese investors need to introduce modern technology and machinery for agriculture in order to increase per acre yield. Chinese investors can export their product of investment to other countries such as ICCI President etc.

He also pointed out that the Potohar region and District Chakwal are right for producing silk worms, olive oil, mulberries, grapes, and others. He assured full cooperation of that Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry to Chinese investors for selecting required land for farming.
