Dr. Saad Gulzar, a graduate of Lahore University of Management Sciences has been appointed as Assistant Professor of Political Science at Stanford University, according to LUMS official website.

Gulzar got his Ph.D. from New York University in 2017and graduated from LUMS in 2008 with major in economics. He has also studied at National University of Singapore and Columbia University.

Areas of interests of Gulzar are political economy of development and comparative politics, particularly with a regional focus on South Asia. He wrote on his website that he has explored elements of politician and bureaucratic effort to citizen wellbeing.

Gulzar, in order to study the elements of politician and bureaucratic effort toward citizen well-being, has used field experiments and data from government programmes according to Stanford University’s website.

Furthermore, he has his work been published in American Political Science Review.

Gulzar wrote in his biography that I was a junior fellow of Association for Analytical Learning about Islam and Muslim Societies, a research fellow in political economy at the Center for Economic Research in Pakistan, and an associate of the Consortium for Development Policy Research.
