BILATERAL COOPERATION of PAKISTAN & FINLAND IN VARIOUS FIELDS

Pakistan and Finland have agreed to further strengthen bilateral cooperation in diverse fields, including economy, trade, energy, agriculture, and industry. This understanding was concluded during the third round of bilateral political consultations in Helsinki. The two sides exchanged ideas on the peace and security environments in their respective regions.
During the talks, additional secretary Zaheer A. Janjua represented Pakistan, while Ambassador Anne Marjaana Sipilainen led the Finnish side. The Pakistan side briefed on Prime Minister’s vision for a peaceful neighborhood and Islamabad’s efforts to reach out to Kabul and New Delhi to meet its vision.
Emphasis was on a strengthening of economic and trade relations by regular interactions between the business circles of the two countries.
The Finnish side is apprised of Pakistan’s credentials for the membership of the Nuclear Suppliers Group while stressing the need for a non-discriminatory approach for new non-NPT member states.
