STAFF REPORT ISB: Britain is very keen to work in the sphere of cyber security which is concern of everyone in the globe and on this specific issue it can work with Pakistan in collaboration with each other.


British Minister for the Cabinet Office and Paymaster General Rt Hon Francis Maude MP said this when called on Minister of State for IT Anusha Rahman here Islamabad. British High Commission Philip Barton, Secretary IT Azmat Ali Ranjha and other officials from British HC and IT Ministry were also present in the meeting.


On the occasion, Anusha said that cyber security is an issue of paramount importance and Pakistan is also working extensively on this particular issue.


“We are devising a holistic cyber law to deal with the threats of spoofing, spamming and identity theft in order to provide cyber security to the internet users,” she said.


She apprised the visiting minister regarding strengths and potentials of the IT and Telecom sector of Pakistan. She said that the number of broadband and 3G/4G subscribers has grown up to 3.8 million and 3.6million respectively in the last few months since auction.


While sharing snapshots of local IT sector, Anusha said that our IT export is more than $1.5 billion per annum, which is 11 times higher than of the last decade.
