Collaborative research idea cemented by 5 universities

STAFF REPORT ISB: A seminar focusing on “Promotion of research and integrating it to society” was organized this week in which the aim of strengthening the university linkages and improving research was consolidated as four reputed Universities of the country including University of Faisalabad, Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU), Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University, National Textile University Faisalabad, and University of Gujrat agreed to take joint initiatives and partner for the sake of improving research productivity.
It was unanimously agreed that a joint formulation will be devised with support of Higher Education Commission (HEC) for transfer of research-based knowledge.
The event was chaired by Vice Chancellor, AIOU, Dr Shahid Siddqui who underscored the requirement of relevant, applied and meaningful research at the university level to address social issues and bring stability in the society. He said, “Conducting research only for the sake of publication is not sufficient rather we require objective based result oriented research in order to yield viable innovative products that can account for curbing social issues.”
