STAFF REPORT ISB: A China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) forum was held to identify areas of cooperation and strengthen the bilateral ties of Pak-China through exchange of technology and joint ventures in this field. Federal Minister for Planning and Development, Ahsan Iqbal represented Pakistan on the occasion.


Ahsan Iqbal floated the idea of cooperation in space technology between both countries under CPEC project. A comprehensive proposal was presented by the Federal Minister. He said, “Space technology cooperation and launching of joint space mission would add another thread of cooperation between both countries and this under-emphasized area will be focused which is the need of the hour to compete with the developed world and enter into space race”.


Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Sun Weidong also graced the occasion and termed the meeting as a milestone in promotion of SandT for implementing CPEC and to further deepen the Sino-Pak strategic partnership, particularly in the field of energy, space and communication.
