STAFF REPORT LHR: The Lahore High Court has directed the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan and Pakistan Engineering Council to recognize degrees of 2800 students who completed their studies under dual-degree program offered by COMSATS University in collaboration with the UKs Lancaster University.

Abubakar, Talha and other students had filed the petition maintaining that the university received huge fees from the students against the dual-degree programme under which the students were to study one of the two years of programme at the Lancaster University in UK.

However, the petitioners said, the university denied honouring the commitment at later stage, and the HEC also refused to recognise their degrees. Justice Shahid Karim directed the HEC and PEC to approve the degrees of the students.
