STAFF REPORT ISB: A two-day conference with the theme “Towards Digital Economy in Pakistan – Building ICT Agenda for Sustainable Development” was sorted out by Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) with the aim to sensitize government to finalize cyber-crime law without further delay so to ensure cyber security for the sustainable development of the ICT and Telecommunication sector. The experts from ICT sector during the event conveyed utmost concern over the delay on finalizing the draft due to which cyber security was badly halted and caused grave concerns for the telecommunication companies.


PTA Chairman, Dr Ismail Shah while addressing the occasion stressed on the need of joint efforts from public-private sector and general public for the sustainable development of telecommunication and ICT sector in order to nurture the concept of digital economy in Pakistan and transform into a viable and sustainable industry.


The ICT experts from various reputed organizations vehemently advocated the need of cyber-crime law on immediate basis to mushroom a safe telecommunication and ICT infrastructure and healthy competitive environment for the sustainable growth.
