STAFF REPORT MIRPUR: Former Federal Minister for Information Technology and ex-Chairman of Higher Education Commissioner (HEC) Prof. Dr. Atta ur Rehman (Sitar-e-Imtiaz) has strongly suggested to the governments of Pakistan and AJK to immediately enforce Educational Emergency in the country for ensuring speedy economic progress besides for entering the ranks of the developed nations.


“A single education system comprising the basic education of science and technology, harmonious to the needs of the modern era – besides other compulsory subjects, should be introduced and implemented, to achieve the proposed task of enforcement of the Educational Emergency in the country,” said the world-fame Pakistani scientist and academician.


He was speaking as chief guest at the concluding ceremony MUSTIVAL-2016, the 3-day-long festival comprising arts and cultural activities on the eve of MUST Foundation Day ceremony, participated by students of various universities of the country, hosted at the state-run Mirpur University of Science and Technology (MUST) local campus on Monday. In his address of welcome, the Vice Chancellor of the MUST Prof. Dr. Habib ur Rehman (Sitara-e-Imtiaz) paid rich tributes to Prof. Dr. Atta-ur-Rehman for his meritorious services for bringing about a boom in the higher education of science and information technology in the country including AJK through his high intellect and pen.
