DSC_1942STAFF REPORT IBD: Speakers at a seminar were on the same page that the persistent energy crisis in Pakistan can be overcome with adopting well crafted policy of exploring all available options of renewable energy sources.

They said this at a national seminar recently arranged by the Renewable and Alternative Energy Association of Pakistan (REAP) and the Department of Mechanical Engineering (DME) of HITEC University.

Purpose of the event was to create awareness and awakening of the potential of “Renewable Energy Resources” in Pakistan.

The REAP members companies presented products of the energy sources including wind energy, solar space heating, solar pumps, solar home solution, solar photovoltaic, energy conservation, energy efficiency, bio diesel, bio gas and hydel energy.

President REAP, Naseer Ahmad, appreciated the Hi Tec University, particularly the Vice Chancellor and Mechanical Department Hi Tec University and briefly described about the REAP. He announced the REAP cash prize awards, for the 3 best students projects.

The chief guest Kashif Ansari, CEO, Sachal Energy, explained about the current situation and stressed upon using the renewable energy sources. He described that we have the only solution to the existing crises, and that is the renewable energy sources.

A large number of students from School, Colleges and Universities visited the Show and witnessed a large variety of Renewable Energy Products. The show was really a good reflection of the current situation of the booming market. All the exhibition stalls were flooded with busy traffic and negotiations between the Exhibitors and visitors at the stalls. The show received many positive feedbacks during and after the show.
