STAFF REPORT IBD: Farmers Associates Pakistan (FAP) has announced to expand its operations to district and tehsil level and in this regard has appointed district governors in the first phase.
FAP President Dr Tariq Bucha informed the recently held extraordinary general body meeting of the FAP that that another 13 members will be appointed by March 31 that will complete the FAP outreach to the district level farmers.
He further said that after one year FAP would further expand to the tehsil and later to the union council level for on the spot contact with the farmers at the grass-roots level.
Tariq Bucha said FAP has more than 2,000 members at present from all over Pakistan, which will grow to 5,000 by June 2013.
Through this system, FAP has already facilitated more than 1100 farmers in getting fertilizer (Urea) at control prices thereby reaping a benefit of Rs 20 million.
FAP has further made arrangements for providing certified and high quality seeds and pesticides to its memberZs for increasing their productivity and viability.
