STAFF REPORT LHR: A training session was held to sensitize the need of food security and improve it from the continuously worsening situation. The event was organized by Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA) in collaboration with Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industries (LCCI).


The representatives of more than 65 SMEs from food sector for example, Bakery, Fast Food Restaurants, Hotels, Juice organizations and food processors went to this Program. The famous food technologist Dr Muhammad Jahangir, Saqib Muneer, Deputy Director Punjab Food Authority and Muhammad Ijlal Malik, Regional Business Coordinator SMEDA likewise tended to the workshop.


Sheikh Muhhammad Arshad, President LCCI who was the boss visitor on the event, encouraged SMEs of the sustenance division to guarantee utilization of the nourishment guidelines in the majority of their venues including lasting or interim kitchens and littler food arrangement territory, for example, eateries, bistros, clubs, inns, attractions, fast-food eateries, outlets etc.


The food security is one of the major challenges faced by Pakistan and due to climate change impacts, it has quadrupled and notable policy reforms and protocols are required in order to reverse the situation.
