STAFF REPORT IBD: Goldwind Science and Technology Company (Goldwind) ofChina, One of the worlds largest turbine manufacturer, would provide its first wind power project inPakistan with 33 units of GW77/1500 high-temperature Permanent Magnet Direct Drive (PMDD) turbines.

“An agreement has been signed an agreement with China Three Gorges Corporation (CTG) to provide its first wind power project in Pakistan,” says a statement issued by Goldwind.

The company said that it is Goldwinds first order fromPakistanand the first joint overseas project for Goldwind and CTG.  The agreement also includes two years of operations and maintenance service.

CTGs project, located in Jhimpir,Sindh,Pakistan, which has varied weather with an average temperature of 27 degrees Celsius. The district is semi-arid and dusty. To withstand this environment, Goldwinds team has designed GW77/1500 high-temperature unit for use in a temperature range of -20 to 45 degrees Celsius with a sealed, dust-proof design.

Chief Executive Officer of Goldwind Wu Gang said in the statement, “This project is our first inPakistanandSouth Asiaregion. It represents a significant corporate milestone and will provide an example for our future development.”

Goldwind has extended its comprehensive wind power solutions to overseas markets. It is pursuing a strategy of international expansion through localization.
