Inauguration of Pak-Korea National Capacity Building Institute

Pak-Korea National Capacity Building Institute (NCBI) inaugural ceremony held at Pakistan Council of Research in Water Resources (PCRWR) Headquarters, Islamabad.

Ambassador of Republic of Korea Jin-Wook Kim along with minister of State Mir Dostain Khan Domki inaugurated constructed a building of NCBI. Korean grant aid of USD 3million has completed the project.

The Korean government has equipped the institute with latest equipment for training and research and also provided training to the local professionals for serving the institute. Institute has commenced first course on the subject “Water Management in Barani Areas. “

On that occasion, the Minister of State Mir Dostain Khan Domki appreciated the efforts of PCRWR for completing the project and technical and financial help of the Korean government.

Ambassador of Republic of Korea Jin-Wook Kim highlighted the role of knowledge and capacity building for socio-economic uplift and development.

He also accentuated on human resource development for increasing economic growth and guaranteed continued assistance to Pakistan from Korea.

Secretary Ministry of Science and Technology has emphasized on importance of water is outside doubt and debates. Though, its satisfactory availability due to speedy population, growth, urbanization, industrialization and climate change is under pressure.

Secretary emphasized on innovative approach and latest technologies for solving the water-related problems and appreciated PCRWR management for project completion. Chairman PCRWR Dr. Muhammad Ashraf highlighted for water sector professionals the importance of institute and its future plans for building capacity.

The participants of the ceremony also made a visit to the institute and appreciated coordination of Korea and Pakistan.
