Shamim Ahmed Firpo, President of Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said that internationals exhibitions in Karachi are actively supporting the economic growth and industrial development in Pakistan.

The 8th edition of Industrial Electronic and Electrical Engineering Exhibition of Pakistan (IEEEP Fair 2017) was inaugurated by Shamim Ahmed at Expo Centre Karachi. He declared in his inaugural speech that the CPEC’s projects have made a positive image of Pakistan in its geographical region and referred it to be ‘The Game Changer’ not only for the region but across the world.

He went on to say that the continuance of such expos can enlarge the prosperity and economy of other sectors. These expos can also help in mushrooming hotels industry as participating foreign and local companies stay in hotels.

This international event was hosted by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers of Pakistan (Karachi Center) from August 1-3 while the event manager was Badar Expo Solutions. Almost 350 stalls of 250 plus national and foreign companies arranged in four halls of the expo center according to the details. Also, 15 foreign countries with 40 plus foreign delegates have participated in this event.

Hanif Gohar, Chairman Fair & Exhibition, FPCCI, said that this kind of fair produces employment opportunities along with awareness about using electronic and electric goods.

Dr. Baqar Raza, Director General PCRET, Ministry of Science and Technology, emphasized on the utilization of available energy resources in Pakistan to meet the energy demand and industrial growth.

“Pakistan has had a lot of consideration in Power Generation, Electrical/Electronics, Industrial Automation and Renewable/Alternate Energy System markets, ” said Baqar.

Engr. Asif Siddiqui, Chairman IEEEP, said that Pakistan has developed electrical and electronic appliances and equipment’s industry, and this fair will augment expansion of this developing industry locally and internationally.

The chairman added that this was the premier Electrical & Electronics Industry Exhibition of Pakistan and has local and international representatives and covered very latest technology of electrical, electronics, lighting, telecommunication, instrumentation and control, allied services, alternate energies and other associated industries.

It is pertinent to mention that NED University of Engineering and Technology has also organized an international conference on Computing, Electronics and Electrical Engineering (ICCEEE) in association with Badar Expo Solutions at Karachi Expo Centre together with the 8th IEEEP Fair.
