STAFF REPORT ISB: COMSATS Institute of Information Technology (CIIT) held its annual Visio Spark-2015 festival aimed to give Information Technology enthusiasts from all over the country an opportunity to showcase their skills and innovations and to grasp the merits of staying updated with the latest trends and dynamics of the rapidly growing IT sector.


According to the sources, more than 500 students from reputed 30 varsities of the country joined in the event. The function entailed several programmes including competitions featuring different categories that included software projects, on-spot programming, poster competition, mobile app development, e-gaming, and IT mushaira to soften up the audience.


Chairman Pakistan Council for Science and Technology (PCST), Prof Dr Anwar-ul-Hassan Gilani turned out on the event as chief guest. He said while addressing on the inaugural session of the event, “The role of science and technology in national development is inevitable and this event is an excellent opportunity for IT professionals and students to exhibit their potentials and get acknowledged at national level”.


In the introductory statements, Director CIIT Wah Campus Prof Dr Tayyeb Akram highlighted goals of the Visio Spark-2015 and coordinated endeavors of CIIT in imparting quality education keeping in perspective the needs of contemporary world.


The winners were awarded with cash prizes, shields and certificates.
