Karachi Education City project: SBI VC apprises British Deputy HC of joint ventures

STAFF REPORT KHI: The Sindh province offers immense investment opportunities in renewable energy and other sectors where foreign and local investors can not only make fortune but at the same time become the driving force behind the futuristic growth associated with this very important project.
“We should focus on areas of intervention to enhance and further strengthen the bilateral relations between Pakistan and UK,” said Vice Chairperson, Sindh Board of Investment (SBI) Naheed Memon during a meeting with John A Tucknott, British Deputy High Commissioner in Karachi.She elaborated that the provincial government is committed to provide conducive environment for the foreign investors.
Naheed also informed the visiting dignitary about another mega project of Sindh – Karachi Education City – comprising top universities campuses to provide quality education, besides alternate energy, infrastructure development, low cost housing schemes, resorts development, mass transit, circular railways, cold storage plants, water treatment plants and technology development are the areas where Pakistan and UK could work as joint venture partners.
The VC also informed that SBI was planning to work for rural women development in term of their capabilities and financial development.
The British High Commissioner suggested to hold an educational conference on Karachi Education City, which would be fruitful to promote the vision and mission of Education City among the foreign universities.
