STAFF REPORT LHR: The Mobilink Foundation has contributed Rs 3 million towards for an out-patient facility at the under-construction Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Center (SKMCHandRC) in Peshawar, Khyber Pukhtunkhwa.

The cheque for this contribution was presented by Tariq Durrani, Regional Director (Sales), Mobilink, to Dr Faisal Sultan, CEO SKMCHandRC, at a ceremony recently organized at the SKMCHandRC Lahore.

Since the commencement of SKMCHandRCs first facility in Lahore, nearly 40,000 patients have visited the facility from the province of KPK. The need for a facility in the province is further amplified by the existing lack of access to diagnosis and treatment.

The contribution by Mobilink Foundation is intended to assist SKMHs efforts to provide state-of-the-art facilities to the people of Khyber Pukhtunkhwa (KPK). Construction on the project has started in March 2011 and is expected to be completed within 3 years.

“The completion of this new state-of-the-art-facility in Peshawar will result in an increasing number of deserving patients getting access to medical attention,” said Tariq Durrani on the occasion.

This contribution is a continuation of the support provided by Mobilink to SKMCHandRC covers the last many years. Each Ramazan, Mobilink also organizes a zakat and donation campaign to generate funding for SKMCHandRC, and also creates awareness through activities at various customer touch points.
