STAFF REPORT ISB: After being a headless organization for more than 4 months, Ministry of Climate Change (MoCC) rallied the induction of Zahid Hamid as he took oath as Federal Minister of MoCC.

Zahid Hamid academic credentials are quite high as he possesses law degree from Punjab University and Post-Grad degree from Cambridge University, United Kingdom. Zahid worked broadly in the field of environmental law and campaigned for environmental conservation. He helped to draft the federal laws on Environmental Protection Act 1997. It is pertinent to mention that Zahid took charge as first Director-General of the Pakistan Environmental Protection Agency (Pak-EPA).

The induction of Zahid Hamid as Federal Minister was inevitable as forthcoming Conference of Parties (COP 21) is just to begin in Paris from 30 November- 11 December, 2015.

The environmental experts, scientists, and the policy makers deem it a positive development and urge Zahid to effectively represent Pakistans case in COP 21 and ensure various projects of MoCC to run in apt manner.
