The Netherlands introducing a sponsored programme in Pakistan. 10 officials having expertise in modern technology will reach Pakistan.

Umair Ahmed Netherlands Policy Officer on economic affairs has revealed when he called on Khawaja Jalaluddin Roomi President Multan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI).

Ahmed exchanged views about increasing cooperation in bilateral trade, agriculture, textiles, and poultry. He said that the Netherlands and Pakistan are major trading partners and fourth largest investor in Pakistan.

The main Dutch exports to Pakistan are oil and oil products, industrial and agricultural machinery, and chemicals while Netherlands largely imports textiles, woven fabrics, linen and, increasingly, agricultural products from Pakistan.

Roomi said that the to introduce Pakistani products Netherlands should provide warehouses. He highlighted opportunities for Dutch companies in fields of cattle and dairy farming, beef and chicken processing, energy and IT among a few others in Pakistan.

Ahmed said that the Netherlands supported projects on good governance, water, education and the environment. Since 2014, the focus was on relationship between the EU and Pakistan, good governance, the rule of law, human rights, education and rural development.
