STAFF REPORT ISB: After receiving a highly positive response from emerging markets for their Asha and Lumia range, a new family named Nokia X has been introduced which runs on Android OS, developed under the Android Open Source Project (AOSP).

Nokia X comes in the lower-tier range which posed as a huge market opportunity for the Finnish smartphone maker. With its funky colours and strong body, Nokia has brought an exciting substitute for other Android devices made by its competitors, says a press release.

Nokia X has a 4-inch display with a WVGA resolution and has a solitary capacitive button which takes the user back from the app or onto the homescreen if pressed for long.

The device boasts a 3.1 megapixel rear-camera which has a built-in video and panorama mode with noise reduction option. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon dual-core processor with speeds of 1.2 GHz and has 512 MB RAM for a fluid experience while browsing different apps.

The Nokia X also supports dual SIM and comes with an internal memory capacity of 4GB which is extendable to 32GB through a microSD card.

Nokia X has a 1500MAh battery which delivers a standby time of 28 days on a single SIM and 17 days on dual SIM. It gives a 3G talk time of 10.5 hours and a music playback time of 26 hours.
