STAFF REPORT LHR: The NSR Energies and University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore signed a memorandum of understanding here on Friday to jointly commence engineering research projects to reduce energy crisis.


The MoU was signed by Director of Center for Energy Research and Development UET Dr Waqar Ahmed and Managing Director of NSR Energies Arshad Munir Kazmi on behalf of their organizations.


According to the MoU, the NSR Energies will provide resources and funds for the research and development work of the energy sector projects of the UET.


The VC UET said that UET students proved their abilities globally and these students will provide opportunities than they can play their role in the development and growth of Pakistan.


Farooq Mir, in his address, said that searching the cheap source of energy generation is need of hour in order to reduce the impact of energy crisis.


He called for industry-academia research and development for quick solution of power generation.


He went to say of that the utilization of indigenous energy generation resources can resolve the energy crisis, reduce import bill, increase industry productivity and create new employment opportunities.


He appreciated the government efforts to resolve energy crisis and show commitment to join hands with government to work for it.
