STAFF REPORT ISB: The Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU), infamous distant learning institute held an Open Day to introduce new academic courses. The new courses are designed in order to hone student potentials and bring at par to meet the industrial needs. The courses are industry and research oriented. The purpose of the event is to familiarize the perspective students about the new courses, their benefits and the career prospects in respective fields.


Dr Shahid Siddiqui, Vice Chancellor AIOU said in inauguration ceremony of the event, “The research and development in Science and Technology are the main areas in which AIOU is striving to make its mark because SandT development is the only tool that can push Pakistan ahead. The RandD can account for innovation and indigenous solutions. The AIOU has always focused to keep the curriculum updated so to impart up to date knowledge to students so that they connect it to the society and propose solutions to the persisting problems that are hampering the society”.


The VC also announced that a competition to showcase innovations of students in SandT will be soon held in university for the sake of development of a healthy competitive environment and acknowledging students efforts.
