Shortly after the public hearing final approval of the ESIA is expected reported Oracle.
The organization is building up a joined lignite mineral resources and mine-mouth control plant in the Desert of Thar in the southeast Sindh. Development of Thar is compelling development in the country with power shortfalls.
Proposal for independent power production of proposed plant was approved by the Ministry of Water and Power while TEPL registered the 660 MW mine-mouth power plant collaboration with the Private Power Infrastructure Board (PPIB). The registration proposed the construction in two phases for 1 320 MW project. Full approval for power generation needs generation license from PPIB that in return demands the agreed electricity tariff from authorities and ESIA for the planned power plant.
