Pakistan-Korea to cooperate in S&T

STAFF REPORT ISB: A meeting was held in Islamabad between Korean Ambassador and Federal Minister of Science and Technology. The purpose of meeting was to discuss areas of mutual cooperation in science and technology and take bilateral ties of both countries to next level.


Federal Minister of Science and Technology, Rana Tanvir Hussain said that Pakistan esteems the brotherly relations with Korea and always want to strengthen the bondage through mutual cooperation.


He also lauded the efforts of Korean government and said that it had taken prominent steps in science and technology education, infrastructure development, and several other sectors. He also assured Korean ambassador that Pakistani government will facilitate Korean companies in every aspect to invest in various sectors including oil and gas, power, agriculture, ICT and telecom, e-commerce etc.


The ambassador apprised that the government of Korea was always keen for SandT development in Pakistan and through its aid agency Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA).


He further said that In Pakistan, KOICA activities had focused on the vocational skills development, education, health, water and sanitation related.


Both representatives of respective countries Pakistan and Korea mutually agreed to tie up firm relationship to strengthen SandT infrastructure for sustainable development in Pakistan.
