WORLD IS global village and people of this planet are like the family of same household. The earth had been facing much manmade and natural disaster since reported. Natural Disaster is now a common incidence in the South Asian countries due to climate change and ethnopoganic activities. Pakistan is also one of the most vulnerable countries and faced huge kind of disaster in its history. Once in 2005, there was a terrible earthquake in Pakistan which put far behind it to win the MDGs and loss of human life, economic and social security.
After just ten year there was a gigantic earthquake (also known as the Gorkha earthquake) in April 2015 Nepal which killed more than 8,800 people and injured more than 23,000. It occurred at 11:56 NST on 25 April, 2015 with a magnitude of 7.8M/8.0M. It was the worst natural disaster to strike in Nepal since the 1934 Nepal Bihar earthquake. Hundreds of thousands of people were left homeless with entire villages flattened across many districts of the country that again put severe negative role on human and social development of Nepal.
Many national and international bodies including Pakistan Government and Army start humanitarian activities and still supporting for Nepal Relief work in the earthquake areas of Nepal.
Youth is indeed considered the asset and is responsible for sustainable and peaceful future. Pakistan Youth Parliament for Water (PYPW) which is country chapter of World Youth Parliament for Water (WYPW) and Asia-Pacific Youth Parliament for Water (APYPW) officially established 27th March 2015 during UN-World Water Day Conference on Water and Sustainable Development-Role of Youth at Pakistan Planning Commission Ministry of Planning Development and Reform Islamabad, took a youth based Initiative on 28 April, 2015 with the different Partners organization for the relief of Earthquake affected people of Nepal.
A reasonable supporting mark was done with the munificently financial contribution of International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD-Pakistan), Pakistan Council of Research in Water Resources (PCRWR), Centre of Research and Development (CRDO), Pakistan Water Partnership (PWP) and Pakistan Youth Parliament for Water (PYPW).
On the behalf of all the partners organization Mr. Brig. Muhammad Aslam Khan (PWP-GDAWP), Mr. Wasif Bashir Babar (PYPW) and Mr. Musa Hafizullah (Junior Water Activist) accumulated funds were handed over to His Excellency Mr. Bharat Raj Paudyal, Ambassador of Nepal to Pakistan at Nepal Embassy to Pakistan on 18 June, 2015.
This was a modest contribution from the Youth of Pakistan with the key message that we are united to support each other for the social development and peace building to make this planet very beautiful and sustainable. This kind of youth activities will indeed develop the strong cooperation and supporting mechanism in the South Asian countries and even at global level.
