STAFF REPORT IBD: Pakistan is ready for the 3G technology; our network checking is complete and we pleased to provide next generation our consumers. Its price may be bitter high but this is very much needed service for the telecom sector of the country.

This was stated by Omer Manzur, the Head of Corporate Communications Mobilink, while addressing a recently held two-day media workshop in a local hotel of Bhurban. During the workshop, journalists were given a briefing about the current telecommunications and future of Mobilink in the sector.

One of the hallmarks of the event was the presence of Navitus, a premiere consultancy based in Islamabad. Mobilink bought them in to invigorate the journalists and to help them in their work, facing challenges and how to plan for the future in systematic and coherent manner.

This session was arranged for around 80 journalists and their families from all parts of Pakistan. The conference was named “iMPress” (standing for Intelligent, Media and Press). Apart from the informative session with the journalists, there was a family gala arranged for the families of the journalists where games and competitions were held and the winners were given prizes. A musical evening was also planned.
