Pakistan to mechanize agriculture by Belarus cooperation

A meeting to talk about increasing bilateral cooperation was held among the Federal Minister for National Food Security & Research, Islamabad Sardar Sikandar Hayat Khan Bosan, and Belarusian Minister for Industry/Co-Chairman of the Joint Belarus – Pakistan Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation Vitaly Vovk.

Belarusian minister was warmly welcomed in Pakistan by Pakistani minister during the meeting. Pakistani minister reiterated that Pakistan gives foremost importance to its bilateral relations towards Belarus.

They have also recollected the memories of the visit of a Pakistani delegation led by the prime minister to Belarus in 2015 August. He has also highlighted visit of Belarus to Pakistan by the chairman of the House of Representatives of Belarus in April 2017 when 1st Pakistan – Belarus Agricultural Forum was launched.

For further strengthening the ties between Pakistan and Belarus in aspects of trade and commerce they discussed the forthcoming visit expected in the first week of August 2017.

Frequent visits at such level are proof of efforts made by both countries for the promotion of bilateral cooperation especially in areas of agriculture is growing because of vision and mission from both leaders of the country.

Bosan has signed four agreements for cooperation in the agriculture sector to ensure swift progress that also including Memorandum of Intentions on Scientific Cooperation between National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (NASB) and PARC signed on 10th August 2015 in Minsk, Belarus.

In the meeting, the two sides agreed on cooperating for farm machinery and storage. Bosan repeated said that to attract foreign investment our farmers need high quality but affordable machinery.

Pakistan is truly committed to creating an environment for local plus foreign business and investment in the country. I appreciate the efforts for farm mechanization made by Belarus, said federal minister.

Sardar Sikandar Hayat Khan Bosan, said while thanking Vitaly Vovk, for visiting Pakistan and assured full support for bilateral cooperation in Pakistan and Belarus at the end of the meeting.
