Pakistan’s food contamination higher than African countries: Dr. Qadeer

KU had produced great personalities who excelled in every social class and I feel immense pleasure to come to Karachi University, globally recognized for its academic and research credentials. Its graduates are serving on distinguished posts both in Pakistan and distinct parts of the world said renowned nuclear scientist Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan while speaking at the certificate distribution ceremony of Presentation Skills and Poster Presentation Skills for M Phil students, organized by Dr. A Q Khan Institute of Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering (KIBGE), University of Karachi (KU).
Dr. Abdul Qadeer added that Dr. Abid Azhar has taken KIBGE to new heights because of his dynamic and proactive leadership in this regard.
I encourage my students to keep a strategic distance from food items on sale in markets Regrettably and shockingly contaminated food items as well as medicines being sold in markets of Pakistan only. Even the poorest countries of the world have a better level. I have not found such level of contamination in Mali, Nigeria, Sudan, and different African countries. We must eat things cooked at our homes. As Muslims, this must not be our character.”
KIBGE Director Professor Dr. Abid Azhar, said, “It has always been an honor to welcome Mohsin-e-Pakistan, Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan. We must promote the culture of open debate in our society to create a peaceful and tolerant society.
Professor Dr. Muhammad Ajmal Khan, KU Vice-Chancellor (VC) said that the major step to reshape welfare society is making culture of dialogue and open debate without which we cannot progress.
Universities always prosper in an open and conducive society which is open to dialogue but intolerance was promoted to such an extent that we even forgot to tolerate each other. The power of pen and book is greater than guns.
Khan further said that countries that got independence after but still we are far ahead of us in the field of science and technology.
Pakistan Academy of Sciences President Dr. Anwar Nasim said that KIBGE had always given ample worth appreciating opportunities of research to its students, which was.
Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan also conducted Haj and Umrah lucky draws for the employees of KIBGE and announced their names.
