STAFF REPORT ISB: The PAKTURK International Schools and Colleges have recently arranged the 11th edition of much awaited annual event National ISMO (Inter Schools Mathematics Olympiad). As many as 10524 students attended this annual event.
The show-case event of PakTurk was held on November 22nd, 2015, in 17 centers, located in 9 cities of Pakistan (Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Peshawar, Quetta, Karachi, Multan, Khairpur Mirs, Jamshoro and Hayderabad, Bahawalpur), simultaneously where the exam papers were held at same time in these venues. The participants were the students of grade-5 to grade-8, both from government as well as private institutions, who competed in this unique Olympiad which is aimed at instilling interest in Mathematics education.
Attractive cash prizes in addition to plaques and certificates will be kept for the national position holders. The 1st position holders from each 5, 6, 7 and 8 class students will get a cash prize of Rs.40000/- each. The 2nd position holders from each 5, 6, 7 and 8 class students will get a cash prize of Rs.30000/- each while the 3rd position holders from each 5, 6, 7 and 8 class students will get a cash prize of Rs.20000/- each.
Moreover, top 20 position holders in each city will also get attractive prizes. The total cash money award will be 2 million. It is worth mentioning here that top position holders of class 8 category will be awarded with the title of ” Al-Khwarizmi of Pakistan” which will remain with that student for the period of one year.
