STAFF REPORT ISB: Pakistan Telecommunications Authority (PTA), in collaboration with the Ministry of Information Technology, has recently arranged five-day professional training for women on “Android Development and Augmented Reality” at its head office as part of the “m-entrepreneurship for women” programme.


The objective of this training was to equip potential women entrepreneurs with necessary mobile application development skills. The training also focused on equipping participants with marketing skills so that they can promote and sell their apps. It aimed at building up mobile app master trainers who can go back to their respective areas and carry out similar trainings for future mobile app developers and entrepreneurs.


On the occasion, Chairman PTA Dr. Syed Ismail Shah and Member Legal MoIT, Ameena Sohail, emphasized the need for women empowerment in Pakistan and expressed that the potential workforce of future women entrepreneurs can utilize their mobile app development skills for creating and promoting mobile apps in the country.


They further said that 3G/4G technologies have not only benefited citizens by converting a smart phone into a smart computer, but it has opened new horizons for the entrepreneurship development wherein women can equally participate.
