PTCL celebrates International Womens Day

Staff Report ISD: In order to praise the female role in company, Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) celebrated the International Womens Day.
The basic aim of this event was to appreciate the constructive role of women in the development of the society and acknowledged their role in PTCL progress.
This years theme, Make It Happen, challenges the stereotypes and reflects the changing perceptions aout what women can do and how they are achieving success in all areas of life.
Syed Mazhar Hussain, Chief Human Resource Officer, PTCL stated that PTCL is an equal opportunity employer and facilitates women by providing highly favorable environment to work.
On this special occasion, Helena Iqbal Saeed (DIG) and Maj. General (Retd) Shahida Badsha shared their life experience to motivate PTCL female members.
Giving their views the speakers highlighted that still women have to struggle to prove their self as a vital element in prosperous and sustainable societies. They stated that despite this fact that we progress but we are still far from understanding womens genuine potential worldwide and still they are not enjoying equal rights in all fields. Women have to struggle hard to achieve their goals and shine in all spheres of life. They added there is no single country in the world where women have achieved full equality and rights. They also appreciated that this occasion is a step towards achieving gender equality and women’s empowerment. As a general public, we must guarantee that they take part completely, appreciate equivalent rights and opportunities in all spaces.
Syed Mazhar Hussain introduced gifts to the recognized visitors at the finish of the function.
