Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL), ICT services provider, has launched ‘PTCL Razakar,’ program. On behalf of the company under Razakar worker force with over 400 Razakars (volunteers) has been formed to take part in humanitarian activities. The program just started its first initiative – The Box of Happiness –aimed to put smiles on the faces of orphans and remind the need of caring.

Syed Mazhar Hussain, Chief Human Resource Officer, PTCL said, “since its start, PTCL has been serving the nation and has commenced a number of CSR initiatives in its history as its share of contribution to society. We believe that it is our responsibility to make a noteworthy positive impact in the community and launch of PTCL Razakar program is one more step in this regard. I am glad to announce that at this time 400 employees have joined the Razakar force and much more have shown interest in becoming a part of the humanitarian activities by PTCL” while expressing his views about the launch of PTCL Razakar.

The Box of Happiness very exciting events have been arranged in different orphanages across Pakistan, and about 1000 hand-packed gift boxes were distributed and received an encouraging response. The orphanages included Rung Mahal and Aghosh Hostel Lahore, Child Protection Bureau Gujranwala, Apna Ghar Faisalabad, SOS Children’s Village Multan and Peshawar, Aghosh Alkhidmat Home Dera Ismail Khan, Edhi Home Karachi, Dar-ul-Falah Hyderabad, Sweet Home Sukkur and Dar-e-Falah Quetta. The major event of the initiative was organized at the SOS Children’s Village in Islamabad in which kids were entertained with various morale enhancing activities like jumping castle, face painting, magic show, etc. PTCL Razakars done more than needed to connect with the children to uplift their spirits and help them seek a bright future.
