STAFF REPORT LHR: The utilization of renewable energy in territories near natural living space of common leopard specie can impact a great deal in reducing deforestation thus mitigating the exposure of the leopard species to human settlements.


Uzma Khan, Director Worldwide Fund (WWF-Pakistan), said while speaking in a meeting that renewable energy was not only an agent for clean environment but its role in biodiversity preservation and reduction of deforestation is also inevitable. “The use of renewable energy sources must be promoted at various levels to account for various challenges of climate change as well”, she added.


She also enumerated the contributions of WWF-Pakistan in overall biodiversity preservation, promoting clean energy campaigns etc.
