Science & Arts expo held at Roots IVY International School

Staff Report ISb: The annual Science and Art Expo 2015 was held at Roots Ivy International School, Rawalpindi on Tuesday. The expo was officially inaugurated by Dr. Zia ul Islam, Director Pakistan Environmental Protection Agency (PAK-EPA). Students of the school exhibited their talent and ingenuity at the occasion in different Science and Art related categories. Ms. Khadija Mushtaq, CEO Roots Ivy International Schools complimented the participants; parent community in particular.

She emanated that the expo was aimed to provide students a platform to showcase their talent in order to create awareness about environment by their creativity. “It is our combined responsibility to take practical steps in order to curtail pollution and effectively preserve the environment by creating public awareness.” she said.

An interactive 3-D display of projects based on environmental topics such as recycling, marine pollution, deforestation, global warming, energy conservation, biodiversity were presented before the audience to create awareness. The students under patronage of their teachers showcased their projects on creatively designed stalls to create awareness on threatening issues. The students also demonstrated life size models, industrial motor boats, and proposed solutions to counter the energy crises, encouraging renewable energy sources i.e. solar, hydel, wind power and biogas, to meet the demand of energy in the country.

Later on, an award ceremony was held to acknowledge the efforts of high achievers and stellar performers with innovative ideas.. Chief guest Dr. Zia ul Islam along with Ms. Khadija Mushtaq privileged the students of academic session 2013-14 with medals and shields.
