STAFF REPORT IBD: Scrutiny of applications is in progress to confer the National ICT Research and Development Awards-2013 for which winners would be rewarded with millions of rupees.
“The awards are expected to be given within next two months time,” sources at the National ICT Fund said adding this initiative is being launched to acknowledge efforts of Pakistani organizations, researchers, academicians, professionals, engineers in the area of ICT.
The sources said that the ICT Fund, a subsidiary of Ministry of ITandT, plans to hold a grand event during which the winners would be announced and excellence of their work be acknowledged.
The award categories are ICT based products/systems/applications and published research papers while each award will consist of a certificate and a cash award.
The first award prize is Rs. 1.5 million while second prize is Rs. 1 million and third award prize is Rs. 0.5 million.
