STAFF REPORT IBD: The Pakistan Scientific and Technological Information Centre (PASTIC) has started organizing seminars and stalls at universities, conferences and exhibitions across the country on a regular basis in order to create awareness of PASTIC SandT information services among scientists, researchers, engineers, academicians, technologists and entrepreneurs.

Consequently boosting its members to disseminate SandT Information through PASTIC free on line services including email alerts, technology round-up, current contents and fresh arrival of PASTIC Library on regular basis.

Most recently, a seminar and stall on “Awareness of PASTIC SandT Information Services” was organized by PASTIC at PMAS Arid Agriculture University, Rawalpindi.

At the seminar, Dr. Saima Tanveer, Senior Scientific Information Officer, and Saif Ullah Azim, Senior System Analyst, were the resource persons, while Prof. Dr. Rai Niaz Ahmad, Vice Chancellor PMAS Arid Agriculture University, was the chief guest.

In his remarks the Vice Chancellor highly appreciated PASTIC SandT Information Services and advised the university faculty and researchers to get full benefit of them.

He acknowledged the PASTIC initiative to come forward to provide latest and most relevant SandT literature to the researchers at their door step.

He proposed that PASTIC should organize such seminars/stalls regularly in future. The Seminar was attended by more than 80 faculty members and Ph.D students while 130 researchers got PASTIC membership.
