STAFF REPORT LHR: Directorate of Quality Enhancement (DQE) Virtual University (VU) of Pakistan has recently organized a one-day national seminar on “How to raise the quality of higher education” here in Lahore.


Prof. Dr. Pervez Hoodbhoy a renowned Pakistani scholar, essayist and national security analyst, was the resource person in the seminar.


The seminar was attended by the principal officers and faculty members from the Virtual University of Pakistan from various stations connected through video link, QECs representatives from the universities in Lahore and those connected through video conferencing from various cities across the country.


Prof. Dr. Muhammad Nawaz, Advisor DQE, introduced the university and brought to light its journey towards quality.


Dr. Hoodbhoy delivered a comprehensive and thought-provoking lecture on the quality-related issues faced by higher education institutions.


Prof. Dr. Naveed A. Malik concluded the seminar with the remarks that the issue of quality in higher education is multi-faceted which requires concerted efforts to curtail its effects.
